According to The Irish Sun, Newcastle United have apparently been in discussions about signing Marcelo Brozovic from Inter.
The Magpies are now one of the richest clubs in world football and that means that they have the financial muscle to sign some of the best players on the planet.
However, despite the fact they have cash to splash, they’re still being rather frugal in the market and they view Brozovic as a potential bargain signing as his Inter contract runs down.
So, how good is Brozovic? Well, he’s one of Inter’s most important players, so that tells you a lot about his talent.
However, perhaps the best indicator of his brilliance is the rave review he received from Jose Mourinho over the summer.
What’s been said?
Mourinho spoke to talkSPORT about Brozovic ahead of England’s Euro 2020 clash with Croatia.
“England is going to face one of the best midfields in the tournament. Brozovic is the top of the top. He’s a fantastic player,” Mourinho said.
“Aggression but at the same time great technique and arrival in the box and coming from a more defensive position.”

Perfect for the Premier League
An aggressive midfielder who has great technique? It sounds as though Brozovic is absolutely perfect for the Premier League.
Newcastle could certainly do with some reinforcements in the midfield and Brozovic could be exactly what they need right now.
Of course, whether or not the Croatian comes to St James’ Park remains to be seen. Liverpool are reportedly also interested and we’re sure the Magpies will face some stiff competition from across Europe for this talented midfielder.
