Tottenham could now turn to Brendan Rodgers as a replacement for Antonio Conte after the 50-year-old became available.

Spurs are said to be admirers of the 50-year-old as they begin their search for a fourth permanent manager since 2021.

It was talkSPORT who claimed in March that Rodgers – who has just departed Leicester with the Foxes 19th in the Premier League – is an option for Daniel Levy at Tottenham.

If the Northern Irishman does arrive in north London, Fraser Forster would seemingly be in approval of the appointment.

What’s the story?

Well, the Tottenham No.20 has already praised Rodgers in the past.

Forster described the 50-year-old as a “top manager” when comparing him and Neil Lennon back in 2019.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the England international said: “We had a fantastic record here. You can’t really argue with his (Lennon’s) record as manager when he was here. Brendan was fantastic as well, but he’s a top manager.”

Forster has never played under Rodgers, but by the sounds of it, he would be happy to have him at Tottenham.

Tottenham could finally hire Brendan Rodgers

Levy’s interest in Rodgers is not just a reactionary thing.

The 61-year-old has been a fan of the Northern Irishman since at least 2012, and even offered him the chance to replace Harry Redknapp.

However, Rodgers opted to join Liverpool instead.

He told The Times: “They’d had 11 managers in 18 years. I needed to create something. I needed to go to a club that was going to give me that opportunity. I am more than happy with the choice I made to come here.”

Of course, Rodgers was a wanted man back then after shining at Swansea, but he may find himself with fewer offers this time around after a difficult campaign at Leicester.

Now – after more than a decade – Levy and Rodgers could finally unite in N17.
