With the end of the season approaching, Arsenal and Tottenham are already exploring which players they could bring to the Premier League.

One man who both Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte are supposedly interested in signing is Paris Saint-Germain maestro Leandro Paredes.

However, the Gunners and Spurs have now been told something that will not be music to their ears.

What’s the story?

Well, Paredes has revealed that he wants to join Real Madrid.

Now, that certainly isn’t good news for the north Londoners, as Los Blancos are arguably the biggest club on the planet.

There is no way either Arsenal or Tottenham are able to compete with them, both financially and in terms of stature among the footballing community.

As quoted by TyC Sports, Paredes said: “I’d love to play for Real Madrid one day, it’s a top club – but I respect Paris Saint-Germain and I’m more than happy here.”

We also don’t think PSG, nor Mauricio Pochettino, will be too pleased about the Argentina international’s comments, especially as Real Madrid knocked the French giants out of the Champions League this season.

Arsenal and Tottenham still have a chance

In our view, the Premier League duo still have a shot at signing Paredes, as we don’t think Real Madrid will make a move for him this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti is still hoping to sign Kylian Mbappe, and seeing as PSG have apparently offered him a deal worth £52m-a-year, a lot of Real Madrid’s budget would surely be spent on the Frenchman if he opted to join.

If Los Blancos do decide to sign a new midfielder, then Paredes doesn’t even seem to be an option – not their first choice, at least.

Monaco wonderkid Aurelien Tchouameni is wanted instead, so if Arsenal and Tottenham submit an attractive proposal to Parades, then he may decide to join one of them.

However, supporters would always be wary of losing the £34.7m man later down the line if Real Madrid come calling, following his comments to TyC Sports.
