Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur beat Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at Villa Park this past weekend, and BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has expressed his admiration for one particular Spurs player.

Spurs beat Villa 4-0 away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League this past weekend. The North London club scored all four goals in the second half. John McGinn was sent off for the Villans in the 65th minute.
Former Tottenham forward Garth Crooks has included Guglielmo Vicario in his BBC Team of the Week.
Crooks was hugely impressed by Vicario’s performance for Spurs against Villa and has noted how good he has been since he moved to Tottenham from Empoli for £17.2 million (Sky Sports) in the summer of 2023.
The BBC Sport pundit has also said that Tottenham were right to offload Hugo Lloris.

Crooks wrote about Vicario on BBC Sport: “What a save. Anything other than a point-blank stop by Vicario from Nicolo Zaniolo’s attempt on goal at a crucial stage of Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa would have been a game-changer. The Italian keeper put his body on the line to make the save and it paid off.
“This was another very important clean sheet by Spurs as goal difference may have a bearing on matters at the end of the season. I’ve said on a numerous occasions the best thing they did was to get rid of keeper Hugo Lloris – and it should have happened years ago.
“Since Vicario’s arrival, the Spurs keeper has saved the team several points, which is precisely what a top-class keeper should be doing. This is now all about who will finish fourth – and with a game in hand and a better goal difference Spurs have stolen the initiative.”
My View: Guglielmo Vicario is a key player for Tottenham Hotspur
In my opinion, Guglielmo Vicario is one of the best and most important players for Tottenham Hotspur.
Vicario has established himself as the number one goalkeeper for Tottenham and has done well for the North London club this season.
The Italian goalkeeper has kept six clean sheets in 27 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season. I think that it is very impressive.
Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 53 points from 27 games. They are two points behind Aston Villa, who are fourth and have played 28 games.
