When it comes to discipline, some NBA teams simply cannot stay out of trouble.

Whether it’s technical fouls, on-court altercations, or repeated fines, a few franchises have developed a reputation for being the league’s most badly behaved.

A new report ranks the ten worst offenders based on total fines accumulated, and the results may surprise some fans.

From emotional leaders to fiery competitors, these organizations have built a legacy of fines that follow them from one season to the next. Here is a look at which NBA teams have paid the highest price for poor behavior over the years.

The NBA’s top five biggest offenders

According to Vegas Insider, the Minnesota Timberwolves lead the list with an astonishing $760,258 in total fines, making them the most penalized team in the league. Their physical playing style and fiery competitiveness have contributed to frequent disciplinary issues.

Right behind them are the Houston Rockets, who have racked up $616,267 in fines. The Denver Nuggets take the third spot with $584,916, followed by the Milwaukee Bucks at $534,409, and the Boston Celtics at $388,984.

Each of these teams features stars known for their intensity and willingness to push boundaries, often resulting in clashes with referees and opponents. For Minnesota and Houston in particular, their aggressive approach has been both a strength and a source of financial pain.

Other repeat offenders round out the list

The Philadelphia 76ers come in sixth with $360,000 in fines, followed closely by the Golden State Warriors at $340,277. The Oklahoma City Thunder are eighth with $306,174, the Brooklyn Nets are ninth at $289,091, and the Memphis Grizzlies round out the top ten with $243,621.

While some of these figures may reflect the competitive nature of the players, others point to teams that have struggled to maintain discipline under pressure.

Golden State’s inclusion, for instance, comes as no surprise to fans familiar with their emotional leaders and intense locker room dynamics.

In total, the fines across the top ten teams exceed several million dollars, highlighting just how costly poor behavior can be at the professional level.

For franchises built on passion and personality, keeping emotions in check remains one of the toughest challenges in modern basketball.

From Minnesota’s aggression to Philadelphia’s frustration, this list is a reminder that success in the NBA requires not only skill and teamwork but composure as well. For now, these ten teams remain the league’s most fined, proving that talent often comes with a temper.
