Swearing might be a part of the competitive fire that drives NBA stars, but for some players, it has come at a serious cost.

A new report has revealed the players who have been fined the most for profanity and language-related incidents in recent years, and surprisingly, Draymond Green does not even make the top five.

Known for his intensity and outspoken personality, Green has long been associated with emotional outbursts on and off the court. But the data shows that other stars have racked up far more fines for their words than their actions.

According to a new analysis, Anthony Edwards and Joel Embiid lead the list of players who have paid the highest price for language-related violations.

Anthony Edwards tops the list of NBA swearing fines since 2014

A study by Vegas Insider compiled fines issued to NBA players for swearing, offensive language, and inappropriate comments since 2014.

At the top of the list is Anthony Edwards, who has been fined a total of $225,000. He is followed closely by Joel Embiid with $210,000 in fines for similar offenses.

Kyrie Irving comes in third with $100,000, while Rudy Gobert and Ja Morant share the next spots with $75,000 each. The list highlights how emotional expression and outspokenness often translate into costly penalties for players who let their frustration or passion get the best of them during games or media interactions.

In many cases, the fines were issued after press conferences, technical fouls, or public comments that crossed the NBA’s language policy. For some players, it reflects fiery competitiveness. For others, it shows a lack of restraint that the league has tried to curb over the years.

Draymond Green ranks only 8th on the list

Despite his reputation as one of the league’s most vocal and fiery players, Draymond Green ranks only eighth, tied with Dillon Brooks, Pascal Siakam, and Brandon Jennings at $50,000 in fines each.

Considering Green’s frequent clashes with referees and opponents, many might expect him to sit higher on the list.

Instead, it appears Green’s most notable punishments have come from technical fouls and suspensions rather than language-related fines.

Players like Edwards and Embiid have faced larger penalties for public comments, often made during interviews or on social media.

For Draymond Green, being eighth on the list may be a rare case of restraint. For the others, it is a costly reminder that words in the NBA carry a price.
