Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano claimed that the club are going to focus on strengthening their midfield next.

Tottenham made great efforts this summer to improve their defence, while the arrival of Bryan Gil could give the attack another dimension.

However, one area they have neglected for some time is their midfield, but now it seems as though signing a new player in that area is a top priority.

Unfortunately, this update hasn’t actually impressed Tottenham supporters, as they’re seemingly still annoyed at the club’s failure to act on this need in recent years.

Indeed, fans have hit back at this claim, stating that this is a problem that should have been fixed some time ago, even going as far back as Christian Eriksen’s departure.

Spurs supporters took to social media to discuss this update, but rather than rejoicing at the fact they’re going to look to bring in a new midfielder, they hit back at the club’s lack of movement in this area in the past.

Here’s what Tottenham fans have been saying online…
