Folarin Balogun was once again on the scoresheet for Arsenal’s U-23 side this week after the striker bagged a goal against Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Trophy.

The England youth international wore the armband as the Gunners made the trip to Devon to take on the high-flying League One side. And Balogun was once again amongst the goals.

The 20-year-old attacker scored the equalising goal for Arsenal which forced the fixture into penalties. However, the north London side would fall 5-4 to Plymouth in the shootout.

Indeed, whilst Arsenal ultimately lost, fans were still pleased with the performance. Especially since Plymouth have spent the majority of this season unbeaten.

With Balogun now bagging a goal against the Pilgrims, it once again shone light on the striker’s future with Arsenal. Indeed, with the attacker effectively fourth-choice, supporters on social media are eager for the forward to go out on loan.

With the likes of William Saliba and Dan Ballard flourishing out on loan, Balogun could greatly benefit from leaving Arsenal on a temporary basis to play senior football.

With Balogun scoring goals for fun at youth level, a loan move would be perfect for the youngster. And fans on social media are eager for the striker to leave in January on a temporary deal.
