Tony Dorigo has said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic that Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts needs to score a goal.

The former Leeds star believes that Roberts is starting to get back to his best, and thinks that the Wales international attacking player needs to score a goal.

Dorigo has said that should the 22-year-old, who can operate as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder, score a goal, his confidence will increase.

Roberts has made 13 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds this season, providing two assists in the process.

Dorigo said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic: “Tyler Roberts is the one, and I think he is slowly getting there. But he needs a goal. He desperately does need a goal, and I am sure his confidence with blossom.”

Important player for Leeds United

Roberts is not guaranteed a place in the Leeds starting lineup, but head coach Marcelo Bielsa rates the Wales international highly.

The 22-year-old has played well for the Whites in the Premier League this season and has shown that he can hold his own.

It would be great for Roberts to find the back of the net once before the season ends, but even if he does not, Bielsa would not mind, as the 22-year-old has contributed in other areas.
