Jay Bothroyd has praised Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu on Twitter for his performance against Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium.
Tomiyasu made his debut for Arsenal in the Premier League game against Norwich in North London this past weekend.
The Japan international started the match at right-back.
The 22-year-old is also able to operate in central defence.
Mikel Arteta’s side won 1-0.
Former Arsenal prospect Bothroyd was following the match, and the Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo striker has given his take on the debut for Tomiyasu.

Impressive Arsenal debut
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna in the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old gave a good account of himself for the Gunners, both in defence and while going on the attack.
Tomiyasu took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 69%, won seven headers, took 49 touches, attempted one dribble, made one tackle and two clearances, and put in one cross.

The youngster defended strongly and could have scored at the other end.
It was a very encouraging performance from the Japan international, who should now make himself the first-choice right-back at Arsenal.
The Gunners did well in the match against Norwich, and fans will hope that the team now go on a running run.
