Jürgen Klopp has made a claim about Arsenal fans after the Gunners drew 2-2 against Liverpool at Anfield last Sunday.
What’s the story?
Well, last Sunday’s clash between Arsenal and Liverpool marked the 34th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy.
For a number of years now, some away fans have acted disgustingly during the minute’s silence on this particular day, with some truly horrendous chants rearing their ugly head.
Thankfully, Arsenal fans did not behave like that last Sunday, and Klopp has now praised them for their actions at Anfield.
The Mirror quote the German as saying: “It was probably the most respectful minute of silence I have ever witnessed, last week.
“There was absolutely no noise apart from a little baby, and that was absolutely fine. That you could hear the baby showed how silent it was. It was touching, to be honest.”

It was extremely pleasing to see how the Arsenal fans conducted themselves last week amid a period where some supporters from other Premier League sides are truly embarrassing their clubs.
Klopp praise for Arsenal must inspire others
Hopefully, Klopp’s praise for Arsenal will inspire other club’s supporters to act in a similar way.
The mutual appreciation between both sets of supporters made for a thrilling game of football, where each fanbase were focused on nothing more than getting behind their respective players.
For too long now, some fans seem to attend football matches with the sole intention to anger or upset others, which doesn’t exactly motivate their own players to put in 100% nor does it ease tensions outside of the stadium.
Of course, football is tribal, and we aren’t expecting every fanbase to get along.
However, horrific events such as Hillsborough and the Munich air disaster are simply not there to be used for point scoring – they are well and truly off the table when it comes to football ‘banter’ as some like to call it.
