Tim Sherwood has told The Analysis Show that “tireless” Liverpool star Mo Salah does not get the respect he deserves when it comes to his creativity. Salah has laid on 13 assists in the league, more than both Reds full-backs.

Salah, 29, has scored a huge 30 goals in 43 games – winning the race for the Premier League golden boot with 22 scored already. The Egypt international has often been accused of being selfish, most recently by Graeme Souness.

But what Salah has done this season, more so than any other season, is produce huge creativity for hisside. He has laid on 13 assists alongside his 30 goals, creating Andy Robertson’s header against Everton on Sunday.

Salah’s 13 assists currently eclipses Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold who has got 12 and 10 respectively. Sherwood says Salah does not get the respect he deserves for his creativity, instead, he is “unfairly criticised”.

“Unbelievable. Everyone talks about him being selfish, he gets unfairly criticised, he doesn’t get the respect for the assists. He works tirelessly, always a goal threat but also unselfish. Wonderful cross to find Robertson.”

Sherwood on Salah: Does he stay at Liverpool this summer?

Liverpool, from the club’s point of view, have got to keep him. This season proves just that, not only his goals but his assists and leadership in the Liverpool team, too. He is their most-effective player in the final third.

From Salah’s point of view, he is only asking what he deserves and he cannot be criticised. Reports this week claim he will not sign a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain lurking – as they look to replace Kylian Mbappe.

As things stand, it looks more likely that he will remain at Liverpool but the club have got to get their skates on and get a deal wrapped up before the summer window comes into full force.
