There are two more games of the 2026 World Cup to play out in the United States, but fans really don’t seem to care about one.

After beating England 2-1 in the semi-final on Wednesday, Argentina will play France in the final at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, July 19.

Tickets for that game are going to set supporters back thousands of dollars, while the third-place tie between England and France will cost just a fraction of that.

England vs France ticket prices at World Cup decline by over 50%

Prior to Wednesday’s semi-final, the price of World Cup final tickets was around $7,200.

However, they have since increased by about $500 since it was confirmed that MLS star Lionel Messi would be competing in the showpiece in New Jersey.

Tickets for England vs France, on the other hand, are going in the complete opposite direction.

A few hours after the game on July 15, one journalist shared how the third-place play-off game had prices of around $767, which was a sharp decline from the previous cost of $1,900 just hours before.

But the decline has not stopped there. At the time of writing on Thursday, a single ticket on Seat Pick can be bought for as low as £384, which is around $518.

That means you could buy 15 third-place play-off tickets for the same price as one average World Cup final ticket.

But, of course, it is hard to see why anyone would wish to do that, as the England vs France game, which takes place at the Miami Stadium on Saturday, is essentially a pointless fixture as nobody really cares if they finish third or fourth at the World Cup.
