Alexandre Lacazette is set to leave Arsenal next month, yet the Frenchman’s latest interview have hinted at where the striker could land this summer.

In a controversial interview with French TV station Canal+, the 30-year-old attacker revealed his goal of once again playing in the UEFA Champions League, with Arsenal still in the fight for the top four despite losing the last three games in the Premier League.

With Lacazette bagging just two non-penalty goals in the Premier League this season, it’s understandable why some Arsenal fans took issue with the captain’s dream of once again playing in the Champions League.

Yet regardless of the forward’s current form, which clubs in Europe could realistically sign Lacazette, and how could he fit at these teams next season?

It feels like a lifetime ago, but in the summer of 2017, Atletico Madrid were actually the favourites to sign Lacazette after a career-best season with boyhood club Olympique Lyonnais.

Had it not been for a summer transfer ban, Arsenal could have missed out on Lacazette altogether. Yet fast forward to 2022, and Atletico could now realistically sign the France international for absolutely nothing.

Indeed, Lacazette’s defensive style of play is perfect for Diego Simeone’s system, and with Atletico a historically low-scoring club, the striker’s lack of goals might not be an issue for the La Liga giants.

Before you flip your desk over and scream over how this move makes no sense, let us go through the quick points for why Lacazette could work at Chelsea.

For starters, the Blues need a striker of some attacking quality not named Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, two players who look set to leave Chelsea this summer after failing to impress under Thomas Tuchel.

Moreover, given Chelsea’s incredible attacking options beyond the centre-forward position, a true hold-up striker like Lacazette could elevate the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz to exciting levels, especially with the club entering a brave new world post-Roman Abramovich.

Juventus

Numerous clubs have been linked with Lacazette since the January window, and one such side is Juventus, who could be the most realistic option this summer for the Arsenal star.

With both Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata set to leave Turin in the coming months, a reliable backup to Dusan Vlahovic is needed for Juventus, and Lacazette could be the man to answer the call.

With previous Premier League strikers such as Olivier Giroud and Edin Dzeko thriving in Italy, Lacazette could be the next player to succeed, especially if Juventus make a move for the Arsenal forward.
