When Martin Keown was at Arsenal, he always made it clear that ‘training needs to be tougher than the game on the weekend’.
Well, it seems as though Thomas Partey is making sure that is happening at London Colney.
Alexandre Lacazette posted on Instagram about his wounds from Arsenal training on Wednesday following a tackle from Partey.
The Frenchman posted ‘Player of the month. Killer of the day’, before tagging in his Ghanian teammate.
Well, Partey has responded to his actions on his own Instagram story by seemingly defending himself.
Alongside the caption of his name, he added: ‘(Thomas Partey) is not that bad in person.’
All of this should be music to the ears of Arsenal fans because the players are clearly making life as tough as possible in training.
And, in turn, it should prepare them for what is going to be a very tough final few months of the season.
The Gunners are leading the charge when it comes to securing Champions League football this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side are sitting fourth in the Premier League table, one point ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United with three games in hand.
The youngest squad in the Premier League doesn’t have any baggage attached to them, which might just be another reason why fourth spot is achieved.
