Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar will be looking for the final pieces of the jigsaw for Arsenal in their Premier League title push.
These past five years haven’t exactly been easy and it has resulted in the Arsenal boss making some big calls to get the club where they are now.
From finishing eighth to losing out on the Premier League title on the final day. The London club have come a long way.
But from booting out Mesut Ozil to signing Ben White after one strong season in Brighton colours. Arteta hasn’t been afraid to do what pleases him.
That included stripping Aaron Ramsdale of the number one goalkeeping gloves and handing them to David Raya.
Ramsdale is currently with England at Euro 2024, but there is talk of him leaving this summer, in order to secure regular starts elsewhere.
If he leaves, then there are suggestions that Arsenal are targeting Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
But Thomas Frank was critical of Lunin’s performance and how he ‘didn’t have his best day’ for Ukraine during their 3-0 defeat to Romania at Euro 2024 on Monday, as he told Match of the Day on BBC One.
The Brentford boss called Lunin a ‘big player’, but thinks he needs to step up for his country after they made a horror start in Germany.
Arsenal transfer target Andriy Lunin at Euro 2024
“Lunin hasn’t had his best day, I must say that,” said Frank. “He was involved in the first one and, more than involved in the second one.
“This is a shot when he looks back at it, he will feel down – you have got to save it. Maybe his defender is a little bit in the way. Definitely, the goalkeeping coach and the goalkeeping union will discuss ‘save that’.
“Yes, he couldn’t see it that well. But you have to save it. We talked about it before. The big players in the team, they need to step up and they need to perform. And Lunin is a big player in the team. You need to stick with him (now). You have got to.”

Arsenal’s goalkeeping department
You know Raya will be the number one next season. It’s just a case of who will be the number two.
Is it going to be Ramsdale? You just can’t see it. He should be a number one, and if Arsenal can’t provide that, then he needs to look for a new home.

Newcastle United have been trying to push for Ramsdale’s signature, as HITC revealed, but all has gone quiet on that front now.
Ramsdale should consider himself lucky that he is still an England international and that won’t continue if he remains on the bench at the Emirates.
