Jose Enrique has claimed that if Liverpool secure the transfer for Matheus Nunes, then it would be ‘amazing’ for the club, as he posted on Instagram.

The former Liverpool defender added that Sporting Lisbon star Nunes is a ‘top, top’ player, as rumours swirl as to whether Jurgen Klopp would add to his midfield this summer.

The Reds know the Portuguese market pretty well given that they dipped into it this summer with the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica – and he has started like a house on fire.

But they also went down that road back in January when they purchased Luis Diaz from Porto – once again, another player from Portugal’s top-tier that is thriving on Merseyside.

In truth, whatever area of Europe, Africa or South America the club decides to go down, they are trusted all the way to do the business because of their recent record.

Well, recent rumours suggest that Liverpool are ready to meet Sporting Lisbon’s £38 million price tag for the midfielder, as Enrique shared his thoughts on those rumours.

THIAGO’S INJURY

Liverpool are only one game in and they are already suffering injuries to their key players, with Thiago Alcantara having to hobble off during their 2-2 draw at Fulham.

The Spanish technician is set to miss a number of weeks of action, including crucial matches for the Reds, so will Jurgen Klopp dip into the transfer market?

The cries for another midfielder have just grown louder, as a result of that Thiago injury, but Liverpool are a club that do things their way and their way only.

But, up until the summer window slams shut, those on Merseyside can dream of a possible incoming addition to the middle of the park.
