According to iNews, Newcastle United are interested in Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
The Albanian forward has lit up the Premier League this season out on loan at Southampton, he may have only have scored six goals, but his all-around play has been a joy to behold for the Saints.
A fast, physical forward, Broja is often finding himself in dangerous positions, and he’s caught the eye of a number of Premier League sides, including Arsenal.
However, it’s not just Premier League clubs who’ve been impressed by Broja, pundits have also been blown away by the striker, and that includes Newcastle legend Alan Shearer.
What’s been said?
Shearer waxed-lyrical about Broja on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, describing him as ‘clinical’.
“Finally a player who has made an immediate impact at Southampton, Armando Broja. Let me tell you, this lad is clinical. His goal against Brentford made him the youngest player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four home starts. As a striker it’s all about taking chances and scoring goals, so stats like this show me that he can thrive in the Premier League,” Shearer said.

High praise
If Alan Shearer is calling you clinical, you must be doing something right.
Broja’s strike rate isn’t actually all that impressive, netting just six times in the league this season, but Shearer has clearly been impressed by his finishing technique, and, to be honest, he’s unlucky not to have scored more.
Perhaps a move to Newcastle could unlock Broja’s true potential.
The Chelsea loanee could well end up emulating Shearer if he joins the Magpies in the summer.
