Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea-owned Southampton striker Armando Broja in the summer transfer window, according to iNews.

The report has claimed that Newcastle have watched Broja, who is on loan at Southampton from Premier League rivals Chelsea at the moment.

The Albania international striker moved to the Saints on loan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021.

Broja is scheduled to return to the Blues at the end of the season.

The youngster has made 20 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Southampton during his loan spell.

Broja has scored six goals in those games.

Tuttomercatoweb reported in January 2022 that Newcastle made a bid of £33 million for the youngster.

Armando Broja would be underwhelming for Newcastle

In our opinion, Broja would be an underwhelming signing for Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has two proven goalscorers in Chris Wood and Callum Wilson at the moment.

Surely the Magpies should be bringing in a top-quality striker if they are to go to the next level instead of bringing in a 20-year-old.

Yes, we know that Broja is very talented, but he is still developing as a footballer and is not the finished article yet.
