Newcastle United are reportedly tracking Boubacar Kamara, but Samir Nasri would advise the Marseille midfielder stays than leave on a free transfer, via Football Club de Marseille.
Kamara has just eight-months remaining on his current deal at the Stade Velodrome and can start negotiating pre-contracts from January. OM have attempted to convince the 22-year-old to stay in southern France, but Calciomercato report he rejected their approach.
The Frenchman snubbed Les Phoceens offer to extend following talks last week, in a boost for the Toon’s pursuit. La Lazio Siamo Noi note Newcastle could rival Lazio for Kamara. And they are prepared to offer the Marseille product a rich contract to move to St James’ Park.

Nasri would urge Kamara signs a new contract with Marseille than join a mid-table Premier League side, amid Newcastle’s interest. He made the move from OM to England himself in 2008, joining Arsenal for €16m (£13.5m).
“I would advise Kamara to extend,” Nasri said. “You will be put forward more than in a club in the middle of the table in Premier League. And this is your club, there is a good project. You’re in your twenties, you’ll earn money in your career.”
Nasri advice not what Newcastle need amid Kamara pursuit
Nasri made 86 appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal before joining Manchester City for £25m in 2011. Adding a further 129 English top-flight matches to his account with the Citizens. Altogether featuring 11 times against Newcastle, for 10 wins and one defeat.
His advice for Kamara is not what Newcastle need to hear amid their transfer pursuit of the Marseille talent. The Toon will hope the U21 international can play a key role in their future under new ownership. Having shown great potential in defence and midfield with OM.
Kamara offers Marseille a great holding presence and leader in their engine room, while also being able to play centre-half. Sweeping possession from opponents and protecting the backline with a relentless nature, potentially perfect for the Premier League.
