Arsenal have reportedly added Bayern Munich scout Florian Bluchel to their backroom staff, with supporters buzzing about the appointment.
According to Football London, the Gunners have added the 37-year-old scout to their growing network with Bluchel set to head up operations in Germany for Arsenal.
The scout, who was once a professional wrestler in Germany, spent over a decade with Bayern in a period of incredible success, with the Bavarian giants winning two UEFA Champions League titles during his time with the club.
With Arsenal gutting their scouting department last year during the height of the pandemic, it appears that the club are now taking steps to add some more personnel to that section, with Bluchel the latest member to join in 2021.
Arsenal have made an impressive erray of signings since Mikel Arteta’s appointment. And with the club owners now financially backing the manager, Bluchel could be key to success of the Gunners over the next few years.
Bayern had an incredible reputation in Germany of maintaining a high level of success without breaking the bank that often on big-name signings, with the likes of Alphonso Davies, Benjamin Pavard and Niklas Sule all joining for relatively low fees.
Indeed, Germany could be a brilliant market for Arsenal to exploit given their history of players who represent the European powerhouses, and supporters on social media are excited about the arrival of new scout Bluchel.
