They say everything is bigger in America, and soccer fans seem to be finding that out first-hand after travelling to the USA for the World Cup.

A number of sports stadiums in the US dwarf even the largest in the UK, while the food is, of course, much bigger in the United States.

Now, one European fan has been left surprised at just how massive a Costco in the country was.

World Cup fan shocked by size of American Costco

In a post shared on Twitter/X, the fan was blown away by the scale of the store and even called it ‘insane’.

He said: “So we are currently at the Costco. There’s some lovely food over here. Is that the new stadium for the World Cup? Is this normal? Guys, they put their whole cow in there. Oh no, I don’t even know what to say. How can they even run out of stock? There’s just too much.

When trying the free samples, he added: “We start off the day with some pizza with pepperoni on top. What do we have here? Can I have one? Oh, thank you so much. Got some chips with avocado oil. I’m living my best life right now. Now let’s try some wings. So you went to Costco to buy any food? No, I’m just having my lunch. Some wings. Let’s have a green juice. Guys, it’s good.”

He added: “I’m like, how? Wow. All the fresh products. This is insane. Blueberries are huge. Everything’s huge.

“Those ones are insane. I don’t know who created Costco, but he’s a genius.”

Costco has over 600 stores in the USA, with far fewer warehouses located in Europe.

However, the majority of these (29) are in the United Kingdom, meaning there is a good chance that people from other nations around the world had never even seen one until they went to the USA.
