Arsenal sent Folarin Balogun out on loan earlier in the month to Middlesbrough, and the Hale End star is already making waves for the Championship giants.

The England U-21 international made only his second appearance for Chris Wilder’s side, again off the bench, yet Balogun shone as the youngster bagged an assist in a tight 1-0 win against Coventry City.

Balogun is expected to play a big role in the future of Arsenal, and his first loan spell away from the club will be key in his development into the player many coaches and supporters believe the striker can become.

Indeed, many fans thought Mikel Arteta made the wrong decision not loaning out Balogun in the summer, however, that mistake has now been amended with the attacker now at Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season.

Balogun is one of three players to leave the Gunners on loan this January, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Pablo Mari also departing north London on short-term deals, with Calum Chambers and Sead Kolasinac leaving for good.

Whilst the likes of Maitland-Niles and Mari seemingly have no future at Arsenal, Balogun has high expectations, and on social media, supporters loved his match-winning assist for Middlesbrough.

Balogun could bring great things to Middlesbrough should the attacker impress Wilder and win a spot in the starting XI. And for Arsenal fans, his display against Coventry was one that showed off the striker’s promising potential.

Here’s what some Arsenal supporters had to say on Twitter about Balogun’s assist for Middlesbrough yesterday…
