Lincoln City yesterday confirmed the loan signing of Arsenal academy star Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who has joined the Imps for the remainder of the season.

The League One side announced on their official website the arrival of the teenage right-back. Norton-Cuffy has featured heavily for the Gunners at U-23 level this season, and is viewed by many at Arsenal as a top defensive prospect.

A right-sided fullback with the ability to play across the defence and in midfield, Norton-Cuffy has enjoyed an impressive season so far for Arsenal’s high-flying U-23 side.

However, the north London side have now taken the decision to loan out the teenager, with Norton-Cuffy heading to Lincoln for the remainder of the season in a move that has been applauded by supporters of both clubs.

Indeed, Lincoln have formed a solid reputation for themselves over the years as an EFL club where youngsters can develop. And speaking to their official website, Norton-Cuffy is aware of the Imps quality.

The defender said: “Lincoln are well known for their development of players, especially loan players, and there’s a pathway for me here, getting men’s football will help my development.”

With Norton-Cuffy a newbie when it comes to the senior game, it will be interesting to see how the England youth international performs in League One. Yet on social media, Lincoln fans are already excited about their new signing.
