Thierry Henry has hailed four Arsenal players, Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Granit Xhaka after their north London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, as he told CBS Sports (04/10/22 at 7:05 pm).

The Arsenal legend added that Xhaka is playing ‘way better’, as he also digged at Tottenham because of their poor record when playing away at the Emirates.

In fact, both teams have strong records against one another on their own turf, as was proved last season.

Nonetheless, over the weekend, Thomas Partey was the one opening the scoring after his brilliant first-time finish into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Whilst Harry Kane added yet another goal to his name in north London derbies, it was cancelled out by Jesus and rejuvenated star Xhaka.

The former Arsenal captain has previously been criticised by fans, but just like the supporters, Henry is also now praising the midfielder.

“That’s what we do to them all the time,” said Henry. “I am also honest to say that’s what they do to it us at their place. I am not surprised with the result because whenever they came to us, they don’t perform, one win in 29 visits, so it usually happens.

“What I like about the Arsenal team is it’s a different team. If you talk about something that’s important, it’s a different team.

“Gabriel Jesus is really changing, not only him, we talked before about Saliba at the back, he allows them to play a back four, so Mikel doing what Pep does also with Zinchenko. Xhaka is playing way better. That’s what I was most impressed with than the result.”

ARSENAL FLYING HIGH

It’s not Manchester City or Liverpool that are sitting top of the Premier League tree, but those from north London and deservedly so.

When Arsenal got beat by Manchester United, many were critical of the team because they felt that they fell at a hurdle that was their first real test of the season.

Well, they put all of that to bed over the weekend when they beat Spurs, who went into the game unbeaten.

And this Sunday, it’s probably going to be Arteta’s biggest test yet because they host Liverpool, who have had a poor start to the season, but three points against the Reds might just change the tide.
