Rangers have launched an internal investigation into the alleged incident

Stuart McCall has called the alleged Rangers rule-breakers “the thickest people on the planet”.
The Ibrox club tweeted on Sunday night: “Rangers are aware of an alleged incident which is subject to an internal investigation. We will make no further comment.”
Record Sport reported that the allegations concern players being caught breaching Covid-19 protocols by attending a party.
Rangers have already seen two players break the rules by attending a party earlier in the season.
Jordan Jones and George Edmundson were both handed seven-game suspensions by the SFA and fixed penalty fines by the police after attending a party following their a 1-0 win for Steven Gerrard’s side against Kilmarnock in November.

Neither player has kicked a ball for the league leaders since, with both completing deadline day moves to England.
McCall, who won five league titles during his playing days at Ibrox and went on to manage the club in 2015, has admitted being “astounded” by the allegations.
Speaking on Monday night’s edition of BBC Scotland’s Sportsound, McCall said: “I’m absolutely astounded, especially because it’s happened not so long ago with two Rangers players.
“So, you can imagine the meetings they’ve had at the football club, Steven Gerrard and everyone throughout the club, knowing the rules, we all know the rules.

“You saw the punishments the other two lads have had, you’ve got a European game coming up on Thursday, you’ve got a chance to go and win a title.
“Honestly, they must be the thickest people on the planet because it defies sense, doesn’t it? Common sense.
“It’s not been proven yet but it looks like it’s taken place.
“I’m sure every Rangers supporter will feel let down and also Steven Gerrard as much as anyone.
“You’re disrespecting him and the football club by going and breaking the rules that could hurt your football club. It’s crazy.”
