Speaking on the Arsenal Lounge YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Kieran Tierney’s future at the Gunners.
The Scot has long been linked with a move to Napoli, and while everything has gone quiet on that front as of late, it seems as though there’s been a bit of movement behind the scenes.
Indeed, Romano says that Napoli were trying to contact Arsenal about a move for Tierney only a few weeks ago, but Arsenal have told them that there is no chance of the full-back being sold this summer.
“I expect a left-back also as a backup for Tierney. Yes, also Tierney is staying. Napoli were trying again a few weeks ago to contact Arsenal because they love the player and they want Tierney in Serie A, but there is no chance right now,” Romano said.

Arsenal have knocked back Napoli for now, but don’t be surprised if this isn’t the last time we hear about this one.
Napoli are seemingly big fans of the Scotland international, and if the London club continue to underperform in the league, their star players may be picked off by some top European sides.
However, it seems as though the Gunners needn’t worry about the idea of Tierney leaving this summer as they’ve told Napoli that he’s not for sale and Romano says that he is staying.
Fingers crossed Tierney can help his side turn their fortunes around next season.
