Paul Merson has tipped Heung-min Son and Harry Kane to fire Tottenham to victory against Brentford this week.
Writing on Sportskeeda, the former Arsenal attacker has predicted a Spurs win this upcoming Thursday when Antonio Conte’s side face off against Brentford for this first time this season. That is despite Son or Kane not scoring a Premier League goal since mid-October.
The west London side have impressed since coming up from the Championship this season, with Brentford last week beating Everton to take them to 12th in the Premier League standings.
Tottenham, meanwhile, saw their clash at Turf Moor postponed due to a snowstorm that engulfed the north of England on Sunday. And the forecast does not indicate that such an incident will occur in London on Thursday night.
Indeed, a win could be huge for Spurs with Arsenal taking on Manchester United later that evening. And for Merson, Son and Kane could be the two players who secure the three points for Tottenham in their London derby against Brentford.
Merson said: “Spurs had a bit of a rest the other day and will be fresh going into this game. They have a lot of class upfront with Kane and Son. Brentford could keep one eye on their crucial game against Leeds on Saturday, and Spurs will likely hold the upper hand this week.”
Son and Kane must turn up if Tottenham want Brentford win

The north London duo have been out form in the league for some time, with their last goals coming well over a month ago. And if Conte is to secure a big result against Brentford this week, the Tottenham attackers need to bring their A-game.
The postponed game this weekend could prove to be a blessing for Son and Kane, with extra rest in a packed season always beneficial for players. And the duo need to show their quality on Thursday night when Tottenham host Brentford in what is a must-win game for the Premier League giants.
