Harry Redknapp says Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur ‘aren’t happy’ with their current wing-backs, as they try to push through a deadline day transfer for Sporting Lisbon’s, Pedro Porro.

The former Tottenham boss shared that, on deadline day, chairman Daniel Levy ‘comes into his element’ and he is the type to throw in all sorts of deals in order to get a transfer over the line, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (31/01/23).

Well, as per, Levy and Co. are pretty busy today, with Porro expected to secure a £44 million deal to north London, as well as some possible departures.

Bryan Gil has already left to re-join Sevilla on a loan deal, following the steal of Everton-bound Arnaut Danjuma, whilst there is talk of Djed Spence leaving on loan.

If Porro does arrive, he starts, but, as things stand, it will leave Cotne with a total of four right-sided wing-backs – Porro, Spence, Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty, so something has got to give.

Nonetheless, this was Redknapp’s take on Porro, as well as what Levy is like during this time of the season.

“I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t know enough about him to say ‘yeah, he’s a fantastic signing’, then he ends up rubbish, said Redknapp.

“But they have been looking for a right wing-back, for a while. They aren’t happy with the boys they have got there. They have found their man, and hopefully, it will be a good signing for them.

“Daniel does love transfer deadline day. He comes into his element today. He will be selling a few, then doing buy one and get one free deal and all sorts going on.”

TOTTENHAM FINALLY LAND PORRO

Spurs fans went through the scares of all scares 24 hours ago when they thought their deal for Porro was dusted.

The obvious anger from supporters was aimed at Levy and ENIC, only for things now to be resolved on deadline day itself.

When the move is signed, sealed and delivered, then it’s a big signing for the north London club and, especially Conte, because Porro suits his system down to a tee.
