Fabrizio Romano has said rumoured Tottenham target Franck Kessie is yet to sign an agreement with FC Barcelona, with the race for the midfielder still wide open.
Taking to Twitter, the Italian journalist posted that the AC Milan midfielder is yet to make his final choice over which club to join next season. Kessie’s contract expires in the summer, and multiple clubs are said to be chasing the Ivory Coast international.

As per the tweet, Barcelona are in talks with Kessie’s agent over a potential transfer, with the La Liga side the favourites to sign the 25-year-old in the coming months, however, this game-changing update is a huge boost for Tottenham.
As reported by Sport, Spurs made a ‘big offer’ for the midfielder in January, however, the bid was rejected as Kessie remains undecided on who to join in the coming months, yet despite this, the race remains on.
Kessie has been one of Serie A’s best midfielders in recent years and has played a key role in Milan’s title charge this campaign, with the Rossoneri sitting top of the table by just a single point over city rivals Inter Milan.
Whilst Spurs failed to sign the midfielder in January, this update from Romano should breathe new life into the club’s efforts to sign Kessie, with a deal to join Barcelona not agreed as previously reported.
Kessie could restore balance to Tottenham midfield

An all-action midfielder who excels in multiple roles, Kessie could be the perfect player for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, with the Ivorian ideal to add much-needed quality to the centre of the park.
Kessie has dominated Serie A over the past few seasons with both Milan and Atalanta, and for Tottenham, the 25-year-old can elevate the north London squad to something special under Conte.
