Rangers have confirmed the signing of Charlie McCann from Manchester United on a three-year deal – and Gers fans on Twitter are buzzing at the teenager’s arrival.
McCann will join the Rangers B team as they challenge in the Lowland League, with the Irish youth international arriving at Ibrox with a fantastic pedigree.
After joining United three years ago from hometown club Coventry City, McCann was a stand-out performer last season in the Old Trafford side’s under-23s.
McCann featured 20 times for the under-23s over the course of the last campaign, scoring five goals and is a Republic of Ireland Under-18 international.
The midfielder is ”really excited” at the move and can’t wait to get started at Ibrox as he looks to force his way into the first-team picture under Steven Gerrard, telling Rangers TV: “I’m delighted to get the move over the line, I was obviously really excited when I heard the news and I knew that it was a no brainer. I can’t wait to get started now and I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s just unreal [Ibrox] it’s such a great experience and I can’t wait to see what it will be like when there is a full house of fans.
Gers fans can’t wait to see him in action alongside Charlie Lindsay, Alex Lowry, Robbie Ure and Leon King as the B team continue their debut campaign in the Lowland League.
