Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Moussa Diaby amid ongoing transfer speculation around the Frenchman.

The winger has been strongly linked to Newcastle for a number of weeks now, and while Jacobs says that the attacker remains a key target for Newcastle, he states that a move to Arsenal is also possible for the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Indeed, when asked about a potential move to Chelsea for Diaby, the reporter namedropped Arsenal as a potential destination for the speedster.

What’s been said?

Jacobs spoke about Diaby and Arsenal.

“The other name that I am really intrigued by, by the way, again, unlikely for Chelsea but possible for say Newcastle or even Arsenal maybe is Moussa Diaby. He has been a key target for Newcastle since January, and I think he’s going to go somewhere eventually and there’s a chance for some of the bigger clubs to get involved there as well,” Jacobs said.

Raphinha alternative

Arsenal are seemingly in the market for a new winger this summer. After all, they did bid for Raphinha before his move to Barcelona, and Diaby would be a great alternative.

Indeed, after racking up 13 goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga last term, Diaby looks like one of the most exciting attackers in Europe, and at the age of just 22, there’s so much room for him to improve.

At that age, he’d fit brilliantly into Arsenal’s young core and Mikel Arteta’s current project.

This would be an expensive one, but if Arsenal can land Diaby this summer, they’d be getting an absolutely brilliant player.
