Newcastle United want Moussa Diaby and are prepared to make one final push to try and sign the Bayer Leverkusen winger.
Newcastle need to find some more attacking firepower and another winger seems to be a priority.
Allan Saint-Maximin remains a major Premier League threat despite some questions about his end product.
Yet on the other side it’s Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron battling it out, two players who may not be at the level Eddie Howe is seeking.
Newcastle will be looking to splash the cash on another winger, but their top target has been difficult to obtain.
Newcastle United want Moussa Diaby
Bayer Leverkusen star Diaby has been linked with Newcastle for months now having emerged as their priority target.
The former Paris Saint-Germain talent racked up 17 goals and 14 assists in 42 games across all competitions last season.
Diaby, 23, is a left-footed winger who can play on either side and has caused no end of problems with his blistering pace.
Branded ‘astonishing’ over in Germany, Diaby has become one of the top wingers in Europe and is understandably in demand.

The Northern Echo report that Newcastle are now planning to make one final push to try and sign Diaby this summer.
Leverkusen want £60million for Diaby whereas Newcastle are so far only willing to pay £40million with add-ons.
Newcastle really want Diaby but also don’t want the saga to keep dragging on and on, so are prepared to have one more attempt a deal and will back away if it doesn’t happen.
That’s ultimately the right decision for Newcastle; Diaby is an incredible talent but the Magpies can’t wait forever.
Newcastle have other targets in other areas and could instead spend big on a striker and land a winger on loan, rather than the other way around.
