Jack Wilshere has revealed his excitement over Arsenal U-23 youngster Salah Oulad M’Hand, who has impressed the former Gunners midfielder during his time at the club.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, the Aarhus playmaker spoke about his fondness for the Netherlands talent, with Wilshere coaching Salah briefly at Arsenal during his time training with the Gunners this season.

The former England international helped coach the U-23s, with Salah exploding on the youth scene this season along with the likes of Charlie Patino and Omari Hutchinson as Arsenal continue to flourish under Kevin Betsy.

With Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe becoming key players for the first team, Salah could become the latest talent off the Hale End production line to break into Mikel Arteta’s squad, and Wilshere has high hopes for the teenager.

The former West Ham midfielder said: “I don’t want to tell you about a player who I think is really good then put pressure on him and it doesn’t work out. But there’s a few in the academy. The fans will watch the U-23’s and know about Charlie Patino, who got his chance.

Wilshere added on Arsenal prospect Salah: “But then there are other players out there, there’s a boy called Salah who is really good coming through. There’s a lot of players in that group who are technically very, very good.”

Arsenal’s current crop of U-23 players is impressive, to say the least, and Salah has the quality and the potential to become a real prospect for Arsenal at a first-team level in the near future.

Indeed, the midfielder has the qualities to join the likes of Saka and Smith Rowe in Arteta’s squad. And with Wilshere a fan of Salah, the former Arsenal star’s blessing could go a long way in the Dutch youngster breaking into the Gunners’ team sooner rather than later.
