Freddie Ljungberg was left impressed by Rangers fans at Ibrox during their 7-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Arsenal legend and ex-Celtic player highlighted how ‘the whole stand was jumping’ when Scott Arfield opened the scoring against the Reds after only 17 minutes.
Before kick-off, as was expected, it was a pretty raucous atmosphere in Glasgow, as the Gers tried their best to make it as hostile as possible for their British counterparts.

Just like how Rangers finished their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last week, they started off this game in an aggressive fashion, as they tried to force their opponents into making mistakes.
That aggression and in-your-face attitude played a part in Arfield putting away a brilliant effort from the edge of the box to open the scoring.
That’s when the noise levels inside Ibrox went up serious levels, as Ljungberg shared that was one of the ‘better things’ from the night, as he told CBS Sports Champions League Goals Show (12/10/22).
“What a finish, it’s so well-controlled and in the corner,” said Ljungberg. “It’s a very, very good finish. I think one of the better things is that the whole stand was jumping up and down. The camera is even moving.”

CAN RANGERS MOVE FORWARD?
Before a ball was kicked, not many would have expected Rangers to, a) quality to the knockout stages and b), pick up any points against Liverpool.
The gulf in class is there for all to see and it would have been quite a shock if they secured any points, at Anfield or at Ibrox last night.
But there are ways of losing games and the manner of the defeat, especially the second-half performance, is something that probably won’t sit well with the Rangers faithful.
The key thing here is that Giovanni van Bronckhorst can’t allow the low morale to filter its way to their weekend Premiership game at Motherwell because they are two points behind Celtic as it is.
