Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal main “test” will be against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and not against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker made the comments about Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City while looking ahead to the Gunners’ upcoming games in the Premier League.
Arsenal will take on Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on April 9 after facing Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
The Gunners will lock horns with defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on April 26.
Mikel Arteta’s side at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 69 points from 28 matches.
City are second with 61 points from 27 games.
Darren Bent on Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City
Bent said: “Do you know what? City is the one, but even before we could get there, I think there is an opportunity that if Arsenal can get past Leeds, which is their next game at home, Manchester City have got to go to Anfield, so that might extend the lead again to what could be 10 points. So that might help Arsenal.
“I think the game where Arsenal go to Anfield, I think that’s the test.
“I think at one stage, you would have said that Arsenal could go there and get a result, but when you see what Liverpool did to Manchester United at Anfield, they can do that to you as well. So that’s probably the one game, I am a little bit apprehensive about.”

Taking one game at a time
In our view, Arsenal should take one game at a time and not look too far ahead.
Leeds United are a good team and are aiming to avoid the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
So, the Whites will not be easy pushovers.
We do not think that Arsenal should look too far ahead.
Yes, it is a cliche, but the Gunners simply have to take one game at a time and not assume that they will win certain games.
