
Canadian teenager Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty has this week been training with Arsenal, and this news has excited supporters on social media.
As reported by Jeorge Bird, the Toronto FC attacker is currently in Europe training with various clubs with MLS currently on a break until the new season in February.
Marshall-Rutty is the second player from North America to link up with the Gunners at London Colney this month, with Colorado Rapids talent Dantouma Traore also training with the U-18s in recent weeks.
Indeed, the 17-year-old attacker has enjoyed a breakout season with Toronto FC. Marshall-Rutty made 11 appearances for the MLS giants in the final few matches of the year, with the teenager also winning a call-up to the Canadian national team.
North America is a growing market for European football clubs, with Alphonso Davies the best example of a player to come from MLS to thrive for one of the biggest teams in the world in Bayern Munich.
And it now appears that Arsenal are getting in on the action with two youngsters recently at the training ground to take part in sessions with the club’s U-18 side. Yet in the case of Marshall-Rutty, fans on social media are very excited by the teenager.
