Arsenal suffered a huge blow in the Premier League title race last night as they stretched their winless streak to three games.
The Gunners slipped to second in the Premier League as Manchester City recorded a 3-1 win at the Emirates Stadium, leaving many to question if the north Londoners have thrown their title chances away.
In some positive news for Mikel Arteta, his side do have a game in hand over the Citizens, and Simon Jordan has now made a claim about Arsenal as the Premier League title race hots up.
What’s the story?
Well, even if the Gunners fail to win their first Premier League title since 2004 this season, Jordan believes it will arrive soon.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the 55-year-old said: “There is no doubt in my mind watching Arsenal yesterday and the nature of the fans’ support that this is a side who will inevitably win the Premier League title in the next couple of years.
“They’re a good side, a good unit, a well-coached team, but I don’t think they will do it this season.”

However, Jordan did make one remark which some Arsenal fans will surely question.
He added: “I think they might even get pipped by Manchester United for second spot.”
If that did end up happening, it would be a disastrous way for the 2022/23 Premier League campaign to end for Arsenal, given the fact they sat top of the pile from November until Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat.
Arsenal can still win the Premier League
In our view, many people are overreacting to Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat against Manchester City.
Of course, slipping to second isn’t ideal, and Arsenal’s inability to beat Everton – as well as Brentford – provides cause for concern.
However, Manchester City have endured some patchy results this season, such as a 1-1 draw against Everton, a 2-1 loss to Brentford, a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham and a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
Evidently, Pep Guardiola’s side have been guilty of throwing points away this season as well, so Arsenal must stay focused – it is far from over.
