Duncan Castles has said on The Transfer Window podcast that Nuno does not know if he will get the Tottenham Hotspur managerial job.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Tottenham are in talks with the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss.
BBC Sport had earlier reported that the 47-year-old, a client of super-agent Jorge Mendes, is the leading candidate for the Spurs job.
Castles said on The Transfer Window podcast: “The information I have is that he is on the list, but he doesn’t know whether he is going to be the manager or not, which to me indicates that there is still a problem getting signed off from Daniel Levy on this coach.”
Nuno to Tottenham Hotspur?
Nuno is a good manager who did well at Wolves.
Under the Portuguese, the Wanderers won promotion to the Premier League and then played in the Europa League.
Last season was far from great for Wolves, but such disappointing campaigns happen.
Some will say that Nuno’s playing style is not great, but you need to look at his track record as a manager to see how good he is.

Nuno guided Valencia to the top four in La Liga and helped establish Wolves in the Premier League.
Tottenham could get back to where they were when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge with Nuno.
If Nuno is appointed as the Spurs manager, then he has to be given funds and allowed time.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will need to give his new manager at least two seasons to weave their magic.
