Speaking on his Podcast, Phil Hay has provided us an update on Leeds United’s January transfer window plans, divulging a bit more information on potential outgoings at Elland Road.
There are certainly plenty of players who may want to be looking for new opportunities as Marcelo Bielsa hasn’t been able to guarantee minutes to every player on the books at the club.
However, Hay has now claimed that there are very few players who are on the chopping block this month.
“There was a question in there about who Leeds would listen to offers for if they were made, the honest answer to that is very very few of the players in Bielsa’s squad. There are very few players in the squad they would want to sell,” Hay said.
“As I say, at boardroom level there are certainly people who see the merit of taking a decent offer for Casilla, and with somebody like Costa, I don’t mean immediately, but going forward he’s going to have to play a lot better than he did on Sunday to stay in the plans.”

It seems as though we shouldn’t be expecting any big name departures at Leeds this month.
Casilla potentially being sold is a possibility, which shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but the fact that Helder Costa may be at risk in the near future is interesting.
The Portuguese winger hasn’t been getting much of a sniff at first-team action as of late, and it seems as though he needs to step it up.
The emergence of Raphinha and Ian Poveda certainly haven’t helped Costa’s case, but it seems as though the ex-Wolves ace faces a vitally important six months at Leeds.
