Well, Tottenham Hotspur-owned Cameron Carter-Vickers appears to have finally found a home in the form of Celtic.
Spurs loaned the USA international to the Scottish Premiership outfit last summer.
Remember, this is the 24-year-old’s seventh separate loan spell away from Tottenham, illustrating that although he’s a talent, he’s never been considered good enough for Spurs’ senior outfit.
But the powerful defender has been a revelation in Glasgow, though he hasn’t been included as a nomination for Player of the Year in Scotland.
And Chris Sutton has suggested on Twitter that it’s a laughable omission, given Carter-Vickers’s form.
Is Carter-Vickers leaving Tottenham?
It looks like Carter-Vickers is definitely leaving Tottenham this summer.
Earlier this week it was reported that Celtic were in advanced talks to sign the player in what could be a £10 million deal.
And if Daniel Levy or Fabio Paratici secures that fee, well it’s a massive bargain.
That’s because the player was due to be out of contract last summer, before being offered – and signing – a new deal.
That extension was never tabled with the belief that Carter-Vickers would be a star for Tottenham; it was as an investment and if the Lilywhites make £10 million on a player they nearly lost for free, well that’s stellar business by anyone’s metric.
