When Leeds were languishing in the Championship under the likes of Steve Evans and Paul Heckingbottom, nobody would’ve expected Champions League winners to be arriving at Elland Road.
However, times are changing.
Before his move to Barcelona, Sergio Agüero was said to be a target for Marcelo Bielsa.
Now, the Argentine’s namesake in Real Madrid left-back Marcelo is said to be wanted by those at Elland Road.
It was the Mirror who wrote that Leeds are interested in the 33-year-old, who is also being eyed by Everton.
Diego Maradona thought highly of him
Before he sadly passed away, the great Diego Maradona thought very highly of Marcelo, and once made a huge claim about the Brazilian.

As quoted by Goal, the Argentine said he felt Marcelo was the best player in La Liga behind none other than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
To say that about any player is a bold statement, but to say it about a defender is especially interesting.
Maradona said: “Removing [Lionel] Messi and Cristiano [Ronaldo], Marcelo is the best player in the league right now.”

If Leeds can pull this one off, it would be special.
Marcelo is one of the most decorated players around, having won the Champions League four times, as well as five La Liga titles.
If he arrived at Elland Road, he would immediately become one of the biggest names to set foot in Yorkshire.
