Ian Wright has warned Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal about the ‘rebirth’ of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool after they smoked Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield.

Days after that drubbing, many still can’t get over what Liverpool, who have struggled for large parts of this season, produced against their biggest rival on the Premier League stage – Jamie Carragher couldn’t help but mock Peter Schmeichel about that situation on Tuesday night.

It was a humbling of the highest order for Erik ten Hag’s men, who are the third-best team in the Premier League this season, after also recently winning the League Cup.

This is a worry for those chasing Champions League football because fifth-placed Liverpool are now starting to seriously warm up their engine and produce during the crunch moments of the season.

It’s also bad news for the Premier League leaders because they visit Anfield next month.

Many saw what Arteta did to try and prepare his Arsenal team for a visit to Anfield during their All or Nothing documentary, well, Ian Wright compared the Reds to ‘The Avengers’ and what lies ahead for his former side, as he told Premier League Productions (06/03/23 at 2:45 pm).

“I saw Man City have got Southampton and someone else, I couldn’t quite see who it was,” said Wright. “Instantly, you are looking ‘they will win those two games’.

“Whereas, in that two-game run, Arsenal have got Liverpool away. This Liverpool, from what we have seen. This is the rebirth. The newborn. The (Avengers). They have assembled again.

“But this is what is exciting and why the Premier League is what it is. From now until the end of the season. We saw what Bournemouth did to a team that’s at the top of the league. You can’t call anything. You can’t.”

CRUNCH TIME FOR ARSENAL

Those heart-stopping three points for Arsenal against Bournemouth were huge because of what’s coming ahead during the forthcoming weeks.

From the visit of Chelsea and travelling to Merseyside and the Etihad, these games might just define whether Arsenal are champions of England or not in May.

That trip to Anfield might prove to be the toughest because whether it’s Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United or Manchester United, the Reds have performed against the top sides at home this season, regardless of their away form.
