Replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal will be an impossible job for any manager in this era of the beautiful game, yet Mikel Arteta is taking a decent crack at the legendary Gunners coach.
The Basque manager has had a rollercoaster spell at Arsenal since returning to the north London side as coach in 2019. Arteta has led the Gunners to an FA Cup triumph as well as the UEFA Europa League semi-final.
However, Arteta has also finished eighth in the Premier League standings twice. Moreover, Arsenal last season failed to qualify for Europe for the first time in this century.
Indeed, despite some downright embarrassing moments, Arteta’s win percentage, as shown by AFTV’s official Twitter account, remains surprisingly high.
At 54.7%, Arteta is just 0.4% lower than Unai Emery, the man who the fomer Manchester City assistant replaced Arsenal. Wenger, meanwhile, stands at 57.2% from 1224 games with the Gunners.
With Arteta not even managing 100 games for Arsenal, the 39-year-old coach has a long way to go before even living up to the status Wenger has at the north London club.

Yet despite some regression, a few Arsenal fans on social media are stunned with how high Arteta’s win percentage as manager of the Gunners is compared to Wenger’s.
