Micah Richards lauded Son Heung-min’s ‘terrific’ technique as Tottenham Hotspur secured a valuable 3-2 win over Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (12/10/22 at 10:30 pm).
The former Manchester City defender also praised the continued devastating partnership between Son and Harry Kane – with the duo linking up again last night.
The South Korean superstar, who has had an up-and-down season in front of goal, was back to his best as Antonio Conte’s side took command of Group D.

Even though Frankfurt opened the scoring following a mistake from Eric Dier, it was the two usual suspects linking up, Kane dropping deep, then finding the on-rushing Son, who was through on goal to level the scores.
Kane then put his side ahead from the penalty spot, before Son scored a devastating left-footed volley from the middle of the goal following a pin-point cross from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
That was Son at his best and a player that simply can’t be stopped when he is in that kind of form, as Richards praised the versatile forward.
“What a game this was, from start to finish,” said Richards. “Spurs opted to go with two in midfield. Son this goal (first) is just excellent, that combination between Kane and Son, which we have seen so much.
“Then this is an excellent one. The ball comes in, just look at the way Son shapes up, on his left foot, then the technique to get his head over the ball and the power he creates. It’s a terrific technique.
“Frankfurt went down to ten men, fought back, but Spurs, all in all, they were in control.”

ONE OF THE BEST TECHNIQUES IN THE BUSINESS
There aren’t many players that look so comfortable in front of goal than Son because he plays like he has a PlayStation controller in hand.
It has been seven years since Spurs paid £22 million for his talents (Guardian) and not many will yet know whether he is right or left-footed.
Whenever Son departs Spurs, he will go down as a club legend, an icon and one of the club’s best-ever players.
It would just be fitting, from Tottenham’s perspective, if he can secure a few trophies, alongside his partner in crime Harry Kane because they both deserve something for the devastating careers they have had.
