Tottenham Hotspur always seem to find themselves in the firing line, even when they aren’t playing, as proved to be the case on Saturday evening before Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
In midweek, Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, with the performance of Erik ten Hag’s side, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo’s refusal to come onto the pitch, all taking the headlines.
Well, a certain Roy Keane was having none of it because, whilst some felt that was Man United’s ‘best performance in years’, he made it clear that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham were just ‘terrible’, as he told Sky Sports.

Keane also defended Ronaldo for his actions and felt that he should have played against a Tottenham side he scored a hat-trick against last season.
The Portugal international was left out of the squad that picked up a late point at the Bridge yesterday, a performance that was far more defensive-minded compared to the all-out-attack one that Spurs suffered on Wednesday.
In years gone by, Keane has been never shy to mince his words and it’s fair to say that it was the same again, as Spurs took some shots from the legendary midfielder.
“Everyone was talking after the game that they beat Spurs, it was a big win and the best performance in years,” said Keane. “Absolute rubbish. Spurs were terrible.
“Manchester United managed to beat Spurs last year at home, when I think that Ronaldo got a hat-trick, so he is more than capable of getting onto that pitch and making a difference.”

CAN ‘TERRIBLE’ SPURS BOUNCE BACK?
When Tottenham suffered defeat in the north London derby to Arsenal, they bounced back and started to rack up the points once again.
Well, the noise and criticism was perhaps slightly deeper after that Old Trafford display because it wasn’t pretty, to say the least.
On home soil, Conte’s side have looked destructive, free-flowing and free-scoring, both in the Champions League and in the Premier League.
Well, two massive games await them during this coming week, starting with Eddie Howe’s in-form Newcastle United, before the visit of Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.
