Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with Adrien Rabiot, and now it seems that Erik ten Hag is personally getting involved.

According to L’Equipe, Manchester United are keen on signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who has also been linked with Liverpool.

The 28-year-old France international midfielder is out of contract at Juventus at the end of the season.

L’Equipe have reported that United manager Erik ten Hag has directly spoken to Rabiot in recent weeks and is trying to convince him to move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

And this will come as a blow for Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag involvement in Adrien Rabiot race potential blow for Liverpool

90min reported in April that Liverpool are interested in signing the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder in the summer of 2023.

The report claimed interest from Tottenham Hotspur and United as well in Rabiot.

Newcastle United have also been linked with Rabiot, described asa very complete player” who is “great both with and without the ball” by Barcelona head coach Xavi in Sportskeeda in 2017.

If Ten Hag is personally involved in a potential deal, then it shows that United mean business.

And if United get back into the UEFA Champions League, like they are expected to, then they will be hugely appealing to Rabiot.

Now, of course, Liverpool are also a massive club and a global brand, and it would not be too easy for the 28-year-old to make a decision if both the Merseyside club and United make offers to him.

However, Ten Hag personally getting in touch with Rabiot could show the midfielder how much United really want him.
