Jim Beglin has praised Tottenham Hotspur left wing-back Ryan Sessegnon on Premier League Productions for his role in the goal that Son Heung-min scored against Liverpool at Anfield this evening.

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham took on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

South Korea international forward Son opened the scoring in the 56th minute when he found the back of the net from close range.

Sessegnon, who can operate as a winger or left-back but has been playing as a left wing-back under Conte, provided the assist.

Former Liverpool left-back Beglin was following the match for the Premier League Productions, and he noted that the £25 million (BBC Sport) player could have scored himself and was unselfish in his delivery.

Jim Beglin on Ryan Sessegnon for Tottenham v Liverpool

Beglin said on Premier League Productions: “We always felt that Spurs could be a threat to the title.

“It’s a great take from Kane and then it’s a case of where is the support and Sessegnon is there.

“He could have been tempted to fire across at Alisson but Son was there and he finds him. What we thought could happen all along has happened.”

In our opinion, Sessegnon played well for Tottenham against Liverpool at Anfield.

Yes, defensively there were a few moments when the 21-year-old could have done better, but playing against a top Liverpool team, we have to say that the youngster did his job.

Sessegnon played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 52.4%, took 46 touches, made five tackles and three clearances, and put in four crosses.
