Jeff Hendrick looks set to join Burnley in a deal that could see the Clarets break their transfer record once more.
Republic of Ireland’s Jeff Hendrick in action
Hull City look set to lose out on Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick, with the Daily Mail reporting that Burnley are on the brink of completing a deal worth in excess of £10 million.
Recent reports from ESPN have suggested the Tigers had agreed a fee for the Irishman, but the Clarets have seemingly stolen a march on their Premier League rivals and now look poised to complete what would be a club record fee.

It would be the second time Burnley have broken their transfer record this summer, with the club’s previous highest deal being the £8 million signing of Belgian Steven Defour.
Sean Dyche has been reportedly keen on bringing Hendrick to Turf Moor all summer, initially offering £3 million earlier in the summer.

Hull’s interest saw Hendrick’s price edge upwards, but the Tigers will now have to look elsewhere in their efforts to strengthen a thin first team squad.

Meanwhile, Derby County could use the money made from Hendrick to make a move for Jordan Mutch, while an £8 million move for Matej Vydra is also a strong possibility.
