The Algerian forward seemed set to seal a transfer to Liverpool this summer, but reports suggest Chelsea are now favourites to secure his signature.

Chelsea have overtaken Liverpool in the chase for Porto striker Yacine Brahimi, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo has claimed.
Reports had previously suggested Liverpool were close to sealing a deal for the forward, who has a buyout clause of £45 million, but Chelsea now look to have jumped to the front of the queue for the 26-year-old’s signature.
Brahimi has attracted the interest of several top clubs across Europe on the back of two impressive seasons with Porto, where he has scored 21 goals since arriving from Granada in 2014.

With Brazilian international Alexandre Pato unlikely to see his loan spell at Stamford Bridge made permanent, and with the futures of Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao looking increasingly uncertain, it would be no surprise to see incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte make attacking reinforcements this summer.
However, despite their interest, a deal for Brahimi could be complicated by the fact he is part-owned by consortium Doyen Sports and Porto so it will be interesting to see how things play out this summer.
